Offering a unique take on the classic VOX AC4, the AC4TV is a remarkably flexible little tube amp that features a retro inspired aesthetic and three different output modes (4 watts, 1 watt, or ¼ watt), allowing you to achieve true VOX tone at volume levels suitable for any environment. This up-to-date Class A version retains the distinctive EL84 power tube of the original and features a 12AX7 powered pre-amp, all driving a custom-made Celestion 10” speaker. In Use
If you think 4-watts is not up to job then think again. You’ll be surprised just how loud this little amp goes. On the 4-watt setting don’t be surprised if you get complaints from the neighbours. Luckily, you can just knock it down to the 1 or ¼ Watt settings, which still packs a tonal punch and is a great way to get real valve overdrive at manageable volume levels.
The AC4TV can also accommodate both single coil and humbucking pickups well and cleans up nicely when you back off the guitar volume. You can add further tonal variation with the AC4RV’s tone control that is surprisingly versatile, going from a warm blues sound to brighter tones with a rich harmonic content.
With so many uses, from practice, jamming or recording and looking so good the AC4TV will find a home in anyone’s guitar amp collection.
